Created in 1877, the company Grimonprez began its activities by carrying out agricultural machinery by which the founder, Yvon Grimonprez, won the gold medal of the agricultural show of Audenaerde.
In 1885, its production is complemented by the manufacture of engines for stationary gas and moved then to Mouscron.
The gold medal of the Exposition Universelle of Gent was also won in 1913.
Towards the years 1925, the Ateliers Grimonprez retrain in the construction of wood and stone carving machines. Several generations of Grimonprez follow and these machines enjoy an international reputation around the Globe. Several of these machines are still used today!
In parallel with this production, the previous leader began in 1950 the department "subcontracting" in mechanical precision and especially the production of gears and similar parts.
Gradually in the 1970s, the department "subcontracting" takes over in relation to the stone cutting machines stone whose this manufacturation is finally and definitively abandoned in 1986.
1997 The repurchase of the "ateliers Grimonprez et fils" (AGF) by the society Gearing Industry, ensured continuity and specialization in subcontracting gears and transmission components.
2006, New Name Grimonprez Transmission Gears SA (GTG) and a new industrial building located at Dottignies where we will continue our evolution and prepair our future.
